SRINAGAR, Aug 19: Prof Yousuf Memorial Inter-College Cricket Cup got underway at Islamia College Play field, the 8th edition of cricket cup was inaugurated by the Principal, Dr Mohammad Aslam Baba, here today.
The inaugural match was played between Islamia College and Government Degree College Tral, wherein GDC Tral won the toss and elected to field first.
Batting first, Islamia College scored 139 runs in allotted 20 overs. For ICSC Amir Banday scored 25 runs in 23 deliveries and Usmaan contributed 18 runs in 16 deliveries. For GDC Tral Javaid took 4 wickets, while Yasir and Zahid took 2 wickets each.
In reply, GDC Tral scored 117 runs in 19.5 overs. Faisal scored 55 runs in 53 deliveries and Yasir scored 32 runs in 23 deliveries. For Islamia College, Usmaan took 3 wickets and Irshad took 2 wickets.
Islamia College, won the match by 23 runs, Usmaan was adjudged man of the match for his good all-round performance.
In another match GDC Pulwama defeated Amar Singh College by 105 runs. Shabir was adjudged man of the match.
