Investigate selection of Santosh Trophy players: Manjit

SAMBA, Dec 17: Apni Party provincial president for Jammu, Manjit Singh here today demanded fair investigation into the selection of the football team from J&K that is representing J&K in Santosh Trophy.
Singh said that 20 players were selected for the tournament ignoring players from Jammu.
“There is resentment among the football players of Jammu who participated in the selection process but none of them made into the final list making the whole process of selection questionable,” said Apni Party leader.
Addressing a meeting at Smailpur in Samba District, he said that the young players were disappointed by the selection process.
Manjit also raised concern over the unaddressed issues like those of lanes, drains and sanitization in Smailpur.
He demanded that the Rural Development Department shall look into the demands of the people, and ensure sanitization of the area as the situation has turned hazardous.
