JAMMU, June 23: Different Sports Association of Jammu today celebrated International Olympic Day with full enthusiasm, here.
Hockey J&K organised an exhibition match between junior men and women teams to observe Olympic Day celebrations at Green Field Gandhi Nagar Jammu. Rajiv Sharma president Hockey J&K was the chief guest, whereas Ashok Singh Jamwal Divisional Sports Officer Jammu was guest of honour. The chief guest stressed upon the players to work hard so that our teams can give medal winning performance in nationals. Both teams played very well but men team emerged winner of the match by 2-0 goals. The match was officiated by D Singh and Joginder Singh senior hockey coaches.
Kargil Martyrs Handball Club Udhampur in collaboration with the Department of Youth Services and Sports Udhampur celebrated the Day at Mini Stadium Udhampur by following SOPs issued by the Government under the supervision of DYSO Udhampur Swaran Singh. The event was organized in order to encourage more people to know about the importance of Olympic Games. Later sports uniforms and handballs were distributed among the players.
Hockey Poonch in collaboration with Sham Lal Hockey Club and Power House Hockey Club Poonch celebrated International Olympic Day at Sports Stadium, here today. Hockey coaches and players send message of awareness and recognition of Olympic sports that was held every four years- based on three pillars including ‘move’, ‘learn’ and ‘discover.’ They also wished good luck to India men’s and women’s Hockey Team and other Indian athletes participating in coming Tokoyo Olympic-2021.
