International Women’s Day celebrated

JAMMU, Mar 7: International Women’s Day was today celebrated with enthusiasm and zeal.
On the eve of International Women’s Day, Jammu Tawi Golf Course organised a Yoga session. The IWD 2021 campaign theme this year is Choose To Challenge.
The event was attended by women from all walks of life and kids. The participants performed various asnas under the guidance of Pavit Kour, Internationally Certified Yoga Instructor.
Manav Gupta, secretary Jammu Tawi Golf course, informed that club is organizing two day event including yoga session and women putting competition in association with Directorate of Tourism.
To mark International Women Day, Aryans Group of Colleges, Rajpura, near Chandigarh organised a virtual workshop on “Intellectual Property in Innovation and Value Creation”. Pooja Kumar, Women Entrepreneur, Founder Director, Innove Intellects, Patent agent, Government of India interacted with the faculty members and students of Engineering, Nursing, Pharmacy, Law, Management, Education and Agriculture. Dr Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group presided over the webinar.
A program was organized by the “Jiyo Aur Jeene Do” on the occasion of International Women’s Day, in which the role of women in society and women’s rights were discussed. President Tariq Shah briefed about the role played by women in the upliftment of their families and societies. Patron of the organisation Senior Advocate Bharat Bhushan, renowned Social Worker Dr KC Sharma, Advocate Swatantradev Kotwal, Retired Lecturer Piyushlata, Chander Mohini, Neena Kaul, Ret SSP R C Mannotra and many other speakers threw light on the subject. On the occasion, Dr Uma Sharma, Kusum Sharma Antra, Seema Kotwal, Kavita Sharma, District Election Officer Shivi, Aranya Sharma and Ananya Gupta were honoured.
Academicians, Literary personalities, scholars and social activists of Duggar Manch celebrated International Women’s Day. On this occasion, a seminar was organized on the theme “The Journey of Dogra Women: Past, Present and Future”. Scholars and Professors from Dogri and English language presented their papers on different themes. A book, co-authored by Prof. Shalini Rana was also released.
To recognise the contribution of women in the society and propagate the message of enabling girl child with education and their empowerment through maturing the talent, Army undertook a noble initiative by conducting multiple activities on the occasion of International Women’s Day at Navapachci, Mughal Maidan, Chhatru and Chingam area of Kishtwar district.
The various creative activities received overwhelming response from girls and resolve for education and will to attain success in life. A total of 267 girls participated in the multi coloured activities and showcased their talent activities.
