SRINAGAR, Feb 14: International Skiing Championship is being organized from February 17 to February 19, 2014 in world famous tourist destination of Gulmarg. The Championship is being organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Winter Games Association under the aegis of Winter Games Federation of India. The highlights of the championship are National Alpine Ski, National Junior and Senior Snow Boarding Championship. About 160 Athletes and officials of WGFI are expected to be participating in the championship. The Slalom and Giant Slalom for men and women in skiing championship are being organized while Junior Snow Boarding championship is being played for the first time in India. Championship is being sponsored by J&K State Cable Car Corporation while J&K Bank and Khyber Group of Industries will co-sponsor the championship. This was informed by the District Development Commissioner, Srinagar, Mr. Farooq Ahmad Shah here today in an internal interaction with media persons. On this occasion, Managing Director, J&K Cable Car Corporation, Chief Executive Officer, Gulmarg Development Authority and other concerned officers were present.
