JAMMU, June 2: The Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), Jammu today concluded the Inter-Zonal District Level Competitions in Volleyball Under-14 and Under-17 years for girls and Handball Under-17 years for girls at MA Stadium Jammu and SD Sabha School, Rehari. Simultaneously, the Inter-Zonal District Level Cricket Competition for Under-14 boys was held at Khel Gaon, Nagrota.
In Handball, Zone Satwari clinched the Under-14 girls title by defeating Zone Gandhi Nagar by 5-3 in the final, while Zone Bishnah secured third place with a 4-2 win over Zone Jammu. In the Under-17 girls category, Zone Jammu emerged champions after defeating Zone RS Pura by 6-4 in the final, whereas Zone Gandhi Nagar finished third by beating Zone Satwari by 3-0.
In Volleyball Under-17 girls, Zone Satwari lifted the title after defeating Zone Gandhi Nagar by 2-0 in the final. Zone Chowki Choura secured third place by overcoming Zone Akhnoor. In the Under-14 girls category, Zone Chowki Choura emerged champions with a 2-0 victory over Zone Khour in the final, while Zone Satwari finished third.
In Cricket Under-14 boys, Zone Jammu defeated Zone Marh by 33 runs after posting 87/4 and restricting Marh to 54/8. Rakshat scored 22 runs for Jammu, while Stanzia took two wickets for Marh. In another match, Zone Miran Sahib defeated Zone Gandhi Nagar by seven runs. Sohan top-scored with 20 runs for Miran Sahib, while Aarav remained unbeaten on 35 for Gandhi Nagar. Haragun claimed two wickets for Miran Sahib.
