JAMMU, May 25: Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), Jammu today organized Inter-Zonal District Level competitions for Under-14 and Under-17 boys at Khel Gaon Nagrota, SD Sabha School Rehari and MA Stadium Jammu.
The competitions were held under the patronage of Director General Youth Services and Sports J&K Anuradha Gupta, under the guidance of Joint Director YS&S Jammu Inderjeet Singh and overall supervision of DYSSO Jammu Sukhdev Raj Sharma.
In the volleyball events of U-17 boys category, Zone Khour registered impressive victories over RS Pura and Gandhi Nagar by identical margins of 2-0 sets, while Zone Marh defeated Gandhi Nagar 2-0. RS Pura also outplayed Marh and Gandhi Nagar in straight sets. In another match, Zone Akhnoor defeated Miran Sahib 2-0.
In the second set of volleyball fixtures, Zone Dansal defeated Zone Jammu 2-0, while Zone Bhalwal got the better of Bishnah by the same margin. Dansal later edged past Bhalwal in a closely fought contest by 2-1 sets. Zone Satwari also recorded a convincing 2-0 win against Chowki Choura, whereas Bishnah defeated Jammu 2-0.
Meanwhile, Gandhi Nagar Zone emerged victorious in the U-17 boys cricket final by defeating Miran Sahib Zone by 50 runs at MA Stadium Jammu.
