REASI, Aug 22: The Department of Youth Services & Sports, Reasi, conducted the Inter-Zonal District Level Sports Competitions at General Zorawar Singh Stadium and the Indoor Sports Complex, here today.
Students from various zones including Reasi, Pouni, Arnas, Mahore and Chassana participated with great zeal in multiple disciplines such as Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Wrestling, Yoga, Table Tennis and Badminton.
The event was inaugurated by District Youth Services & Sports Officer, Tarsem Singh, who was welcomed by Zonal Physical Education Officer, Asha Devi and Activity Incharges, Kuldeep Kumar and Jagdev Singh. In his address, Tarsem Singh highlighted the importance of sports in shaping a disciplined, healthy and well-rounded personality, urging students to adopt sports as a vital part of their lives.
The competitions witnessed closely contested matches and outstanding performances from young athletes, particularly in wrestling, where Reasi zone dominated with multiple golds. Zone Reasi also excelled in team events like Kho-Kho and Kabaddi, while Arnas claimed a hard-fought victory in Volleyball.
