JAMMU, May 8: Inter-school district level competitions of district Jammu in team events of Basketball, Handball, Softball, Throwball, Rugby and individual game of Wushu in boys two age groups of under-14 and under-17 got underway at different venues, here under the banner of Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), here today.
Earlier, the competition declared open by the district officer (DYSS), Jammu, Chanchal Kour, is also organising secretary of the competition. The finals are expected to be played tomorrow at the same venues, followed by the similar two day competition in girls section.
BASKETBALL: U-17: GD Goenka beat SOS 18-0; APS Ratnu Chak beat DPS Jammu by 26-04; Banyan International beat Model Academy BC Road 8-5; MHAC Nagbani beat APS Sunjwan 21-04; JK Public School beat Shiksha Niketan 18-04; GHS City Chowk beat APS Domana 23-16; APS Kalu Chak beat Jodhamal Public School by16-06; Sainik School Nagrota beat St. Frances Akhnoor by 33-04. UNDER-14: Heritage Public School beat St. Frances Akhnoor 17-06; Jodhamal Public School beat St. Peter B.C. Road 05-03; APS Jammu Cantt. Beat Banyan International 6-0; JK Public School beat Shiksha Niketan 14-02; Model Academy beat RM Public School 4-0.
THROWBALL: U-17: Sunshine beat Indira Public High school 2-0.
SOFTBALL: U-17: GHSS Jhiri beat Manik Public School 7-0; MRLD beat Shiksha Niketan 6-5; GHSS Bhour Camp beat GHSS Boys Domana 3-2; DBN beat GHS Raipur 4-2. Soft Ball: U-14: GHSS Jhiri beat MRLD 6-2; BSK Domana beat DBN Mubarak Mandi 4-3.
