Inter-School Basketball tournament commences

JAMMU, May 29: District Level Inter School tournament in the discipline of Basketball for boys Under-14 and under-17 years began at Indoor Complex MA Stadium, here today.
In all, 288 boys drawn from various Govt/Private Institutions of district Jammu are taking part in the Tournament.
The Tournament is being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports as a part of annual calendar of sports activities, under the chairmanship of Rishi Kumar, Deputy Director Jammu and under the supervision of Sukhdev Raj Sharma, DYSSO Jammu.
Earlier, the championship was declared open by Sukhdev Raj in a simple function.
The matches were officiated by Rajesh Bandral, Amit Kalsi, Vishal Bharti, Vaneet Pangota and Mousami Verma.
In Basketball Under-14 boys, APS Sunjwan beat Stephens International by 12-6 points, J P World School defeated KC International by 7-0 points, K C Public outplayed DPS Jammu by 11-4 points and Heritage School got better of MIER by 20-2 points, while in Basketball Under-17 boys, Stephens international beat MIER by 16-6 points, St Peters School prevailed over Stephens by 26-8 points, St. Francis Akhnoor outclassed Jodhamal School by 18-4 points, K C International School trounced Banyan International by 10-2 points and DPS Jammu thrashed  J P World School by 20-6 points.
