POONCH, Oct 21: Inter District Taekwondo Championship, being organized by Poonch District Taekwondo Association, under the aegis of Jammu and Kashmir Taekwondo Association in collaboration with District Unit of J&K State Sports Council and District Police Poonch got underway at Sports Stadium, here.
MLC Pardeep Sharma was the chief guest on the opening ceremony and Col YK Gautam was the guest of honour.
On the occasion, the dignitaries interacted with young Taekwondo players drawn from the districts of Jammu, Rajouri and Poonch.
Around 150 students participated in this Championship.
Speaking on the occasion, Pardeep Sharma congratulated Poonch District Taekwondo Association president, Makhan Lal Bhagal and Rajinder Singh, Physical Education Teacher for organizing this mega event.
He assured all help to the Association for holding such events in future also.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Sham Lal Sharma, retired SAI Hockey Coach and treasurer Hockey J&K, Nirdosh Kumar Sharma, In-charge Manager Sports Stadium Poonch, Prem Parkash Luthra, Vijay Kumar, Pawan Kumar, Jatinder Paul, Gurpreet Singh, Sourav Sharma, Neeraj Sharma, Gurvinder Singh, Jasmeet Singh, Himanshu Sharma and Ramparkash Sharma.
