JAMMU, Sept 11: Inter District Divisional Level competition of Jammu division in the sports discipline of Roller Skating boys for all age groups got underway at Roller Skating Rink, MA stadium, here.
In all, 40 students drawn from 2 districts of Jammu and Kathua District are taking part in the competition.
Earlier, the competitions were declared open by Rajnish Kumar, Additional Secretary to Govt, Department of Youth Services and Sports J&K.
The competitions are being organized by Department of Youth Services & Sports, District Jammu under the patronage of Sheikh Fayaz Ahmed, Director Youth Services & Sports, and under the Chairmanship of Madan Lal, Joint Director Youth Services & Sports, Jammu while Chanchal Kour, DYSSO Jammu was the organizing secretary of the competitions.
The main objective of these competitions is to select the teams in Skating for Inter Division State Level competitions.
In Roller Skating Under-17 boys Quad Rink-2 (1000 mtrs), Raghav of Kathua district emerged winner, while 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th position went to Aditya Khajuria of Kathua district, Shivay of Kathua district, Abhishek of Jammu district, Kavtikeya of Jammu district and Vatsal Gupta of Jammu district respectively, while in Roller Skating Under-19 boys Rink-2 (1000 mtrs), Dhruv Gupta of Jammu district bagged 1st place, while Panini Sharma of Jammu district clinched second spot. The 3rd and 4th positions went to Abhirav Balgotra of Jammu district and Vijitndriya Singh of Kathua district.
Earlier, speaking on the occasion, the chief guest lauded the efforts of the organizers for holding the event to provide opportunity to the budding skaters showcase their skills.
He said, the State Govt is committed to raise sports infrastructural facilities in the State and promote sports and games.
