JAMMU, Sept 6: Inter District Divisional level competitions in the sports disciplines of Fencing and Wushu all age groups boys and girls and Cricket Under-17 and Under-19 girls got underway at different venues, here today.
Around 200 players drawn from five districts of Jammu division are taking part in the tournament.
The competitions are being organized under the patronage of Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman, Director General, Youth Services & Sports J&K and under the chairmanship of Madan Lal, Joint Director (J), while Sukhdev Sharma, District Youth Services & Sports Officer Jammu is the Organizing Secretary of the competitions.
The Fencing Competition were declared open today by Reeta Popli, Principal Guru Harikrishan Public School Nanak Nagar Jammu.
In Cricket Under-19 girls, District Samba defeated District Udhampur by 7 wickets, while Cricket Under-17 Girls match was played between District Jammu and District Samba.
The technical panel of Cricket Under-19 girls competition included Zonal Physical Education Officer Anju Gupta (Convener), Mohd Farooq, Jagtar Singh, Madan Mohan, Mukesh Sharma, Vikram Dogra, Satika Pangotra, Payal Choudhary, Umesh and Meenu, besides other members.
