JAMMU, Mar 14: Inter-Department Tournament in badminton and carom (M&W) got underway in the Gymnasium Hall, University of Jammu, here.
Prof Dhian Singh Bhau inaugurated the Tournament in a well attended function, while prominent among others present on the Ravish Vaid, Vikas Karlopia, PD Singh and Amit Sharma.
Earlier, in Badminton women, Geography Department drubbed Mathematics Department by (2-0). Shagufta Salim beat Tania by 21-9, while Shagufta and Falah Khan trounced Tania and Shatakshi by 21-17.
In another match, MCA Department outplayed Education Department by 2-0.
Hempreet Kour beat Sonakshi by 21-19, while Hempreert Kour and Marvi Jasrotia outclassed Sonakshi and Dyutiona Keasr by 21-19.
In the third match of Badminton, ICCR and HRM trounced Zoology Department by 2-0. Anita Singh beat Farahat by 21-10, while Anita and Ravleen got better of Divya and Sameeta by 21-7.
In Men’s Section, MCA Department defeated Chemistry Department by 2-0. Rakesh beat Charanjeet Singh by 21-9, while in doubles Parveen Singh and Goutam Sharma beat Sumit and Ravi by 21-10.
In another match, Economics Department beat Psychology Department by 2-1.
Sahil beat Harpreet by 21-18, while Sahil and Vishal prevailed over Harpreet and Baljeet by 22-20.
In Carrom Women, ICCCR and HRM beat Psychology by 2-0, Economical beat Commerce by 2-0, Eul beat Physical Education by 2-1, while in Carrom Men, Economics beat Psychology by 2-0 and Geography defeated Physical Education by 2-1
