KATHUA, Sept 29: The Inter-Collegiate Volleyball championship which was organized by Directorate of Sports, University of Jammu culminated at Girdhari Lal Dogra Memorial Degree College, Hiranagar here today.
In the final match, the volleyball team of GDC Hiranagar under the captainship of Jatinder Kumar, defeated PG Department of Jammu University in a thrilling encounter by a margin of 23-25, 25-16, 25-15 and 25-12 and emerged as overall champion by lifting the Inter-Collegiate Volleyball trophy 2015.
Principal GDC Hiranagar Dr. Naresh Kumar Gupta and staff of the college welcomed and felicitated the victorious team and stressed the students to take part in extra-curricular activities as sports induce a feeling of discipline among the students.
Principal and staff congratulated Prof. Sandeep Sharma P.T.I of the college for providing expert training to the students.
Prof. Daya Vilas, Prof. Vijay Kumar Chandan, Prof. Rakesh Sharma, Prof. Arun Kumar, Prof. Monika Mahajan alongwith other staff members were also present on the occasion.
