JAMMU, Sept 12: Inter-Collegiate Fencing Champi-onship, organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, concluded at the University Gymnasium Hall, here today.
In boys Sabre team event, GDC Paloura clinched gold, GDC Reasi won silver, while GDC Poonch and GDC Udhampur claimed bronze.
In boys foil team event, GDC Paloura bagged gold, GDC Udhampur clinched silver, while the bronze went to MIET Jammu and GDC Reasi.
Fencing coaches Chotu Lal Sharma, Rachna Jamwal, besides Ujwal Gupta, Ajay Khartol and PD Singh
officiated the matches during the Championship.
The women championship will be held tomorrow at the same venue from10 am, which will be followed by the award ceremony.
In Inter-Collegiate Football Tournament, PG Arts prevailed over GDC Udhampur by 2-1, GCET Jammu beat GDC Samba by (6-5) in tie-breaker, MAM College outplayed GDC Poonch by 3-1 goals through tie-breaker and MBS College got the better of MIET College by (4-2).
The matches were officiated by Suresh Gupta, Rahul Sharma, Dheeraj, Taranpal Singh, Dil Bahadur, Abhimanyu and Gagan Kumar.
The Championships are being organised by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education University of Jammu.
