JAMMU, Feb 21: Inter-Battalion/ Group Centres Badminton competition-2021, organised by Central Reserve Police Forces (CRPF), concluded at GC CRPF Bantalab, here today.
Rajendra Prasad, DIG Jammu Range was the chief guest of the closing ceremony, whereas PC Gupta, Commandant Group Centre Bantalab, DhirendraVerma, Commandant 38 Bn and DS Bisht, Second in Command 38 Bn were also present along with their teams.
The Badminton competition was organised here as per directions received from Directorate General CRPF New Delhi to motivate officer/jawans towards sports events.
About 16 teams of various Group Centres Bantalab, Hiranagar and Jammu sector participated.
Winning team of Group Centre Bantalab and runner-up team of 38 Battalion were awarded with trophies during the concluding ceremony, whereas all the participating teams were also awarded with certificate of participation by the chief guest.
In veteran single, HC/GD Tek Chand of 166 Bn was the winner, whereas Rajesh Kumar, Dy Commandant of GC Bantalab was emerged runner-up, whereas in veteran double, Inspector M Harish Joshi of 137 Bn and ASI/GD Birender Singh was the winner and SI/MT Amarjeet Singh of 187 Bn and SI/RO Vijay Kumar were runner-up.
HC/GD MG Umesh Kumar of 137 Bn clinched title of single open, whereas CT/GD Naveen Kumar of 38 Bn secured runner-up trophy and in double open, Rajesh Kumar, Dy Comdt of GC Bantalab CT/GD N Bipul Singa clinched winning trophy, while Dhirender Verma, Comdt of 38 Bn and CT/GD N Naveen Kumar bagged runner-up trophy.
The event was organized PC Gupta (Commandant), Rajesh Kumar (Dy Comdt), Ajay Sharma (Asst Comdt), Rajesh Kumar (Asst Comdt/Min) and Jaswinder Singh (Asst Comdt/Min) along with Gazetted Officers, Subordinate officers and jawans.
