JAMMU, Sept 9:As part of 1965 Indo-Pak War commemorative activities, Indian Air Force started Ultra Marathon from Air Force Station Pathankot.
49 Air Warriors from various units of Air Force participated in the first leg of the Marathon out of which a team of 7 Air Warriors under the leader Group Captain V S Chaudhary including a lady officer Squadron Leader Gayathri will complete the endurance event of ‘Ultra Marathon’ covering a total distance of 574 kms.
Twelve participants will complete the run for 50 kms till Dasuya and 30 participants will complete the run for 10 kms.
The Marathon commenced from Air Force Station Pathankot and will culminate at Air Force Station Hindon on September 19.
The administration en-route is being taken care by the Air Force Adventure Wing.
Air Commodore JS Dhamoon, Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Station Pathankot flagged off the first leg of this run from Air Force Station Pathankot to Dasuya at 6.15 am today.
