JAMMU, Sept 4: With a view to identify and encourage young talent in sports, KC Sports Club in association with Hyundai launched a monthly cricket event today.
The tournament would offer the youngsters the opportunity to showcase their talent.
Every month, a team of observers would identify promising youngsters taking part in the event and shortlist them for coaching at the Club free of cost.
The matches are being played in the air-conditioned indoor Cricket Hall with 9 pitches, 5 fast and 4 spin with surface of 16000sq. ft.
The match was played between Young Cricket Club Janipur and Star Cricket Club Paloura.
Both the teams played the match with great zeal. The result at the end of the match was as follows:
Young Cricket Club won the toss and decided to bat first.
Batting first Young Cricket Club scores 62 runs in 15 overs. Arjun Parth, Sumit, Arin and Jagdeep contributed 10, 19, 9 and 10 runs respectively. Utkarsh took 3 wickets while Jaiwant and Balbir took 2 and 1 wicket respectively.
In reply, Star Cricket Club got all out at 56 runs in 13.5 over and lost the match by 7 runs. Balbir, Utkarsh, Aditya and Sushant contribute 13, 10, 9 and 12 runs respectively. Jagdeep, Arin and Sumit took 2 wickets each.
