HP gains 1st innings lead as match ends in draw

SRINAGAR, Nov 8: Himachal Pradesh gained vital first innings lead as their match against hosts Jammu and Kashmir in the ongoing U-19 Boys Cooch Behar Trophy ended in a draw at SK Stadium, here today.
Earlier, resuming from an overnight score of 200/8, J&K bundled out for 218 runs to concede a vital 1st innings lead of 33 runs. Rydham Sharma was the first man to be dismissed today at his overnight score of 85 runs. Toheed contributed 15 runs to the total, while Ritvik Jaitley remained unbeaten on 9 runs.
For Himachal Pradesh, Chirag M Sharma was the pick of the bowlers, who took 5 wickets by conceding 53 runs in his 16 overs, while Praval N Singh, Rishit N Thakur, Daksh N Narayan and Vinay Kumar claimed one wicket each.
Himachal Pradesh were 243/6 in 45 overs at the draw of stumps on the final day of the match today. Arjun I Wadhwa top scored with 40 runs, while Lokesh G Chauhan and Robin M Sandal contributed 32 and 30 runs respectively.
For J&K, Mousub Mohd Bhat, Udhay Pratap Singh and Ritvik Jaitley bagged 2 wickets each.
HP won by virtue of the first innings lead and earned 3 points, while J&K earned one point.
J&K will take on formidable Mumbai in the next outing on November 12.
