JAMMU, May 8: Hosts Jammu and Kashmir received (8-0) thrashing from Himachal Pradesh, while Bengal Hockey Association, Dadra and Nagar Haveli HA, Chandigarh Olympic Association (COA) and Hockey Madhya Pradesh defeated their rivals to advance in the ongoing 5th Hockey India Sub Junior National Hockey Championship at KK Hakhu Astroturf Hockey Stadium, here.
Earlier, in Pool D, Hockey Himachal Pradesh thrashed Hockey J&K by eight goals to nil (8-0). The goal scorers from Himachal Pradesh were Sher Singh, who pelted goals in 5th, 60th and 68th minutes of the match; Amar Verma, who scored a fabulous goals in 9th and 42nd minutes Pankaj 14th minute and Param Jeet Singh during 20th minute.
In Pool C, Bengal Hockey Association defeated Hockey Gujarat by nine goals to nil (9-0). Rajesh Mondal (2), Akhilesh Santra (3), Karan Dhanuk (1), Faizan Sheikh (1) and Nadim Hossain Saikh (2) were the goal scorers, while in Pool A, Dadra and Nagar Haveli Hockey Association got better of The Mumbai Hockey Association by three goals to one (3-1), Bipin Yadav, Sanjay Yadav and Nilesh Kathoute scored goals for winners, while Parneet Naik pelted goal for losers.
In Pool D, Chandigarh Olympic Association drubbed Vidarbha Hockey Association by (10-0). Maninder Singh scored 4 goals, while Mandeep, Sanjay and Sukhman Singh netted 2 goals each, while in Pool B, Hockey Madhya Pradesh trounced Hockey Uttarakhand by (4-1) goals. For MP, Vijay Yadav scored 2 goals, while Krishna Murari Yadav and Gladwin Shaun netted a goal each. Rajeev Kumar was the goal scorer for Hockey Uttarakhand.
