SRINAGAR, Oct 8: The third day of the 69th National School Games Football (U-19 Boys) unfolded with exciting matches and impressive performances across various venues in Srinagar, captivating football enthusiasts and spectators alike.
At the TRC Ground, Kerala secured a solid 2-0 victory over Uttarakhand with Jaleel and Sheril scoring the crucial goals. The Central Board of School Education (CBSE) delivered a dominant performance against Puducherry, winning by 7-0. Keith was the star player with a brilliant hat-trick, supported by goals from Ujjwal, Jagran, Nandan and Prahlad. Maharashtra also impressed with a 6-2 win over Odisha, highlighted by Saad’s superb hat-trick and additional goals from Akash, Mayur and Pritham. Odisha’s Montu Nag and Shankra managed to score in the defeat.
At the Kashmir University Ground, Manipur exhibited exceptional form with a commanding 6-0 victory against Telangana, led by the standout performance of Hitler Singh. Andhra Pradesh continued their winning streak by defeating DAV College Management Committee by 4-0. Vidya Bharti and Uttar Pradesh played out an intense goalless draw.
At the Green Valley Ground, Meghalaya stunned Tamil Nadu with a remarkable 9-0 victory, thanks to Kyrmens Khem’s extraordinary display. The International Board Schools Sports Organization edged out Gujarat 2-1 in a tightly contested match.
On the Rugby Ground, host Jammu and Kashmir defeated Punjab by 3-1, while Madhya Pradesh narrowly beat Chandigarh by 1-0. Chhattisgarh also registered a 2-0 victory over Rajasthan.
