JAMMU, Sept 15: Border Security Force Jammu Frontier, HQ Northern Command and Jammu Sanskriti School celebrated Hindi Divas with pomp and show, here today.
Border Security Force Jammu Frontier, Paloura Jammu celebrated Hindi Divas at its Headquaters, which was presided over by its chairman-cum-Managing Director, Rakesh Sharma.
Deputy Commandant, Border Security Force Jammu Frontier, Ajit Singh Tanwar while presenting brief report of the event said that fortnight long Hindi Pakhwara was celebrated from September 1, 2014, which concluded today with the celebration of Hindi Divas.
Speaking on the occasion, Rakesh Sharma said that Hindi apart from being our national language is our identity too.
Various activities were carried out during the fortnight and on the concluding day today.
HQ Northern Command celebrated Hindi Divas with enthusiasm and fervour today.
During Hindi Pakhwara, competitions such as Hindi Noting and Drafting, Hindi Essay and Hindi Typing through Computer were conducted in which all the units and establishments in the station participated.
Col Satyaveer Singh, Colonel (Education) and Chairman Official Language Committee HQ Northern Command also emphasized about the importance of the official language in day to day work through official correspondence in the offices of HQ Northern Command.
He also briefed about the place of Hindi in the Indian Constitution and urged for promotion of National Language in right spirit, especially in the Armed Forces where multi-lingual people join and perform their job together.
DS Rauthan, Assistant Director (OL) and Secretary Official Language Implementation Committee HQ Northern Command presented vote of thanks.
To promote the National Language, Hindi fortnight was held at Jammu Sanskriti School and various competitions were held during the celebrations.
The function started with traditional lighting of lamp by Principal-cum-Vice Chairperson, Rohini Aima and Chairperson, Harpreet Singh Anand.
Jaskirat and Jagdeep won Ist and 2nd prize in debate competition respectively, while Rhea and Shalini bagged Ist and IInd position in handwriting competition respectively.
Pre Primary students Hargun, Drishti and Arshiya recited Hindi poems, while Hardik and Arya spoke on Hindi Diwas.
