Hindi Debate Competition held

JAMMU, Feb 26: Hindi Sahit Mandal (HSM), Jammu in collaboration with Govt. SPMR College of Commerce, Jammu today organized Inter-College Hindi Debate Competition to promulgate and uplift the tenderness of Hindi debate.
Prof Ranjeet Singh, Principal of the College was the chief guest on this occasion whereas Shamendra Kumar, Vice- President HSM was the guest of honour. The occasion started up with lamp lighting engrossed with all the dignitaries.
Twenty six participants from thirteen colleges of Jammu and adjoining districts participated in the programme.
All the participants portrayed and divulged their debate on the assigned topic of Population Explosion in the country. The judges for the programme were Prof Kiran Bakshi, Uma Bhakhri and Prof Gopal Sharma.
Speaking on this occasion Prof Ranjeet Singh appreciated the effots of HSM to maintain the spirit of spreading Hindi in the non- Hindi area.
The over- all First Position in the competition was attained by Govt. College for Women, Parade, Jammu. Aditi, B. Ed. College, Jammu, Anmol of GDC, Bishnah and Aryan of MAM College, Jammu got 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions, respectively. Priya and Divya of GDC, Prade and Akshit Padha of GGM College, Jammu got the consolation prizes.
Shamendra Kumar and Dr Kiran Bakshi expressed their views on the need of taking Hindi seriously in day to day life and for academic purposes.
