JAMMU, Aug 1: In a landmark achievement, Heritage School, Jammu, has become the first school from Jammu & Kashmir to win the Cluster XVIII North Zone Football Tournament (Under-17 Boys). The tournament was held at Om Prakash Bansal Modern School, Mandi Gobindgarh, Punjab, from July 26 to 31, featuring 64 top school teams from across the North Zone.
Heritage School displayed remarkable skill and composure throughout the tournament. In the semifinals, they held the host team to a goalless draw and emerged victorious 4-3 in the penalty shootout. The final against Doaba Public School, Mahilpur (Punjab) was another thrilling encounter, ending 0-0 in regulation time. Once again, Heritage School triumphed in the shootout, winning by 5-4 on penalties to claim the championship title.
This historic win is a result of the dedicated training and strategic guidance of Coach Shahbaz, supported by the school management, Principal Akash Pradhan, Vice Principal Rashmi Thakur, and Sports Coordinator Tarvinder Pal Singh.
