JAMMU, Jan 31: Heritage School today organized its annual Athletic Meet in the sprawling school playground.
School wore a festive look with coloured flags and decorations adorning the school ground, and students smartly dressed to showcase their talent on field.
The sports meet commenced with the hoisting of National Flag by the Principal, Jagadish Singh Dhami. The flag hoisting was followed by an impressive March Past by the four houses – Dignity, Tradition, Culture and Legacy.
It was a day full of exciting athletic events in which each House tried to out-do the other in order to win the coveted Best House Sports Trophy.
The Hurdles and Relay Races were the star sporting events which had everyone cheering loudly motivating the racers.
The students who had excelled in the various athletic events were acknowledged in the awards ceremony with air vibrating with the loud cheers from the enthusiastic audience.
Dignity House won the Best Contingent Trophy and Ritwik Anand from Dignity House clinched the Best Contingent Commander Trophy. The coveted Best House Sports Trophy was bagged by Tradition House.
In his address to the students, the Principal spoke on importance of games and sports in student life. He opined that to bring in the wholesome and balanced personality the importance of sports cannot be overlooked or ignored.
