JAMMU, July 28: Heritage School achieved a historic milestone with the inauguration of Jammu & Kashmir’s first school-based Golf Academy, integrating professional golf training into the academic curriculum. This pioneering initiative, a dream project of Chairman Sunil Gupta, reflects the school’s commitment to holistic education and nurturing unique talents.
The event began with a welcome address by Principal Akash Pradhan, followed by the ceremonial inauguration by chief guest Maj Gen Shamsher Singh Jamwal, a passionate golfer. He commended the initiative, calling golf a sport that builds precision, patience, and focus—qualities vital for both students and soldiers.
The event was graced by Brigadier Pankaj Chib, Colonel Shiv Choudhary and Manav Gupta, Secretary, Sidhra Golf Course. R.S. Chib, former Cabinet Minister and Sunita Gupta, Founder Chairperson, also attended.
Showket Maqbool, certified golf coach, will lead the Junior Golf Programme. A demo session and practice round were held with 25 enthusiastic students. The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Vice Principal Rashmi Thakur.
