HCC Kathua wins Samba T20 Cup

SAMBA, Apr 28: Hiranagar Cricket Club (HCC), Kathua won the finals of the Samba T20 Cricket Cup by defeating Challengers Cricket Club (CCC) Jammu by 6 wickets in a well contested summit clash at  Kehli Mandi Ground, here today.
Batting first, CCC Jammu scored 141 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
In reply HCC, Kathua successfully chased the target of 142 in 19.1 overs by losing 4 wickets, thus won the match by 6 wickets to clinch the title trophy. Senior NC leader and provincial vice president (W), Satwant Kaur Dogra was the chief guest on the Prize Distribution function, who gave away prizes to the winners and the runners-up teams.
She presented a trophy and Rs 30,000 cash prize to the winning team and a trophy and Rs 10,000 cash prize to the runners-up team. Players for their outstanding performances during the Tournament were also awarded on the occasion.
Manish was declared as Man of the Match and Anil was declared as Man of the Series. The prize money was sponsored by M/S Anil Shuttering Store, Samba.
Chandan Cricket Club of Samba organized this Tournament in which 32 teams participated. The tournament was played on knock out basis.
Speaking on the occasion, chief guest said that Samba possesses tremendous sporting talent and the provision of congenial environment and good coaching can help the youth to excel in various games and sports at the State as well as National levels.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Anil Singh Kaka, Kamaldeep Singh, K D Singh, ShashiChib, Radhey Sham, Vivek, Sangram.
