SRINAGAR, Sept 5: In a proud moment for Jammu and Kashmir, Ganaie Ghulam Hassan has been appointed as an Official for the Indian Soft Tennis Team set to participate in the 9th Asian Soft Tennis Championship, scheduled to be held in South Korea from September 13 to 23, 2025.
The announcement was made by the Amateur Soft Tennis Federation of India (ASTFI), the sport’s governing body recognized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. Hassan’s appointment was officially confirmed issued by Shakuntala J. Khodadhara, General Secretary of ASTFI.
Hassan expressed gratitude for the honour, calling it a “moment of pride for the entire sporting community of Jammu and Kashmir.” As an official, he will oversee team management, logistics and coordination to ensure a high-performance environment for Indian athletes.
This development marks a significant step for J&K’s presence in international sports and has sparked enthusiasm among local sports bodies and young athletes. The Indian team now eyes a strong performance at one of Asia’s most prestigious soft tennis competitions.
