JAMMU, Sept 13: The 20-member Indian Junior Wushu team was flagged off by the National Chief Coach of India Kuldeep Handoo from NS NIS Patiala for the 9thAsian Junior Wushu Championship being held at Korea from September 14 to September 21, 2017.
The Junior Wushu team has been sanctioned by the Sports Authority of India at Cost to the Government.
The Wushu Association of India with the support of Sports Authority of India had organized National Wushu Coaching camp at SAI Bhopal and NS NIS Patiala from June 12, 2017.
It is pertinent to mention here that Junior Wushu team last year secured gold medal in the World Wushu Championship at Bulgaria-2016.
The office bearers of Wushu Association of India thanked Sports Authority of India and Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports for sanctioning the team at cost to the Government.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Rajvir Singh (Coach), Rajesh Kumar Tailor (Tailor) Ravi Prakash Tripathi and M Sachidananda (Coach).
The team: Lovpreet, Vikrant Maliyan, K Shekharjit Singh, Suraj Yadav, Harish, Namrata Batra, Sanyogita Singh, Roshibina Devi, Tapash Achom, Swayam S Katke, Hanjaban Karanjit Sharma, Razina Tamang, D Parth, Rohit Jadav, S Marshal Singh, Bhooraksha Dubey, Sarika Manoj Gupta, Prem Kumar, Sumit and Dinesh Kumar Mishra.
