POONCH, Oct 9: Poonch District Handball Championship, being organized by District Poonch Handball Association under the aegis of J&K Handball Association commenced at Sports Stadium, here today.
On the occasion, DySP Headquarters Shahid Naheem was the chief guest, while Nirdosh Kumar, Incharge Manager Sports Stadium Poonch, Pawan Kumar, Mukesh Kumar, Mustaq Ahmed, DK Raina and Ramesh Sharma were also present. In the opening match, Khari Karmara defeated Pinto Handball Club by 20-16 goals. For Khari Karmara, Rakesh scored 9 goals and for Pinto Club, Anil scored 6 goals. In the second match, Stadium XI registered win over Power House Handball Club by 16-10 goals. For Stadium XI, Parvez Ahmed scored 7 goals.
The matches were officiated by Sourab Sharma, Sunil Raina, Neeraj Sharma and Ram Prakash. The Championship is being organized under the supervision of Krishan Lal Sharma, Treasurer, J&K Handball Association.
