Gunners Club scripts narrow win to advance

KISHTWAR, July 12: Gunners Cricket Club (GCC) Kishtwar trounced Pochal Cricket Club (PCC) by 2 wickets to advance in the next round of the ongoing Qazi Mehmood Memorial Cricket Tournament being organized by Kishtwar Sports Development Forum at playfield Chogan, here.
Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, PCC scored a modest total of 115 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Vinay was the top scorer with 37 runs, while Shakir made 14 runs. For GCC, Suhail Qazi was the pick of the bowlers, who scalped 4 important wickets, while Nawaz took 2 wickets.
In reply, GCC chased the required target in 18.2 overs for the loss of 8 wickets, thus won the match by 2 wickets. Nasir Dev was the major contributor with 23 runs while Irfan, Vijay and Suhail Qazi contributed 19, 12 and 8 runs to the total respectively. From PCC, Tariq, Talib and Shakir shared 1 wicket apiece. Suhail Qazi of Gunners Cricket Club Kishtwar was adjudged man of the match for his brilliant all-round performance.
The match was officiated by Sajjad and Mehboob as umpires while Lalit acted as scorer.
