POONCH, Mar 16: Green Club and City Club got the better of their rivals to advance in the ongoing 1st Mufti Mohammad Sayeed Memorial Football Tournament, being organized by Poonch District Football Association, under the aegis of Jammu and Kashmir Football Association at Sports Stadium, here.
In the first match played today, Green Club defeated Chandak Tiger by two goals to nil (2-0). Both the goals were scored by Sukhmanjeet Singh of Green Club.
In the senior group, City Club scripted solitary goal win over Purani Poonch (1-0), while in another match, Chandak Club defeated United Club by two goals to one (2-1). Waqar and Haroon scored one goal each for the team.
Sub Judge Special Mobile Magistrate was the chief guest on the occasion.
The matches were officiated by Rajinder Singh, Kewal Krishan, Narinder Singh and Tarlochan Singh.
Earlier, Boys Higher Secondary School Poonch, Headmaster Ghan Sham was chief guest on the occasion and Rajinder Singh, veteran Athlete and National Medalist was the guest of honour.
