JAMMU, Sept 14: Global Premier League-2014, Season-2 commenced at the Global Institutes, here today.
Chairman Dr B S Chandi declared the tournament open at an impressive ceremony.
He released multi coloured balloons to inaugurate the tournament.
A total of 8 teams from all department including Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, IT+Civil, Computer Science Engineering, MBA, MCA, Polytechnic, B Sc and B Com participated in the league.
The teams are being led by Bikram Singh (Captain ECE), Lovepreet Singh (Captain IT+Civil), Dilpreet Singh (Captain B.Sc and B Com), Siddarth Mahajan (Captain MCA), Balram Kumar (Captain Polytechnic), Sonu Singh (Captain ME), Tushar (Captain CSE) and Manjinder Singh Honey (Captain MBA).
In the knockout tournament, 4 matches will be played in the first round, followed by semifinal and final.
Vice-Chairman, Dr Akashdeep Singh said that sports and games play an important role in the life of the students. They help them to channelize their extra energy, teach them the spirit of team work and discipline and bring about affirmative transformation in their personality.
