Georgia’s wrestler lifts Sumah Dangal title

JAMMU, Apr 3: Dangal wrestler Giorgi lifted Sumah Dangal title-2022, organised by Sumah (Akhnoor)  Dangal Committee in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association at Sumah village, here today.
The event was organised under the overall supervision of Harbans Sharma (President), Ram Paul Sharma, and Tilak Raj (Chairman).
Former Minister Sham Lal Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion, while Mohan Lal Bhagat, SSP and Surinder Singh (Kala), president Narwal Mandi Jammu were the guests of honour. President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association presided over the function and former Sarpanch Babishan Singh, and Rajan Singh (Happy), Rajput Sabha Yuva president were among the prominent who were present on the occasion.
Giorgi of Georgia was declared winner of 1st bout and he was awarded with Rs 90000, while runner –up wrestler Monu of Delhi got Rs. 60000, whereas 2nd bout was won by Benia by defeating Yudhister of Banaras and was awarded with Rs 45000 and 35000 respectively and 3rd bout was secured by Tedo of Georgia who defeated Nissar of J&K and were honoured with Rs 40000 and 30000 respectively.
Harbans Sharma, Tilak Raj, Ram Paul Sharma, Sanjay Sharma and Kewal Kumar were among the technical officials.
In others bouts, Surjeet Singh beat Shakir Noor, Dillar Khan defeated Gora, Muneer trounced Mehar Singh, Lallu beat Sukhman, Liaqat defeated Ranjit Singh, Deepak Kakran beat Nadeem, Babba beat Ravi, Kaka defeated Deepak and Kulbir Singh beat Gourav.
