JAMMU, Dec 13: A programme in connection with the Geeta Jayanti celebrations was organized by Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, Jammu at Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, today.
Mrs Romi Amrit, Incharge Principl, K V No. 1, Jammu was the chief guest and Prof Yash Pal Khajuria was the special guest on this occasion. Prof P N Shastri presided over the programme. A competition of Geeta Shloka Recitation was organized in this context.
The programme started with the lighting of lamp. The students of K V No.1, Jammu presented welcome song in Sanskrit. Primary and middle class students of six Kendriya Vidyalayas viz.- No.1 & 2, Jammu; Nagrota; Sunjuwan; Bantalab and Damana participated in different catagories.
The prizes by the Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan were distributed amongst the winners. The students who were declared the winners included: Primary Wing, K V No.2, Jammu-1st: Dhruv; 2nd: Nikhil Raj: 3rd: Riya; Class Six- 1st: Pranav, KV No.1, Jammu; 2nd: Ayush Pandit, KV Bantalab; 3rd; Kshitij, KV Sunjuwan; Class Seven: 1st: Satvik, KV Bantalab; 2nd: Mansi, KV No.2, Jammu; 3rd: Riya Kumari, KV No.2, Jammu and Snehal, KV No.1, Jammu Students of Sansthan also participated in the competition. Ashish Sharma, Shushank Sharma and Sunil Sharma got 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.
Among others Intellectuals of Sansthan faculty, Dr B C Dwivedy and Jang S Verman were present on this occasion. Dr Jagdish Raj Sharma extended the Vote of Thanks.
