GDCW organizes alumni meet

KATHUA, June 22: Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Government Degree College for Women Kathua organized its first ‘Alumni Meet’ to strengthen the bond between alumni and the College fraternity, here today.
College Principal, Dr Sangita Nagari was the chief guest of the occasion who inaugurated the event by lighting lamps in presence of Faculty members of the College, followed by a welcome speech by Dr Nagari.
In her speech, Dr Nagari highlighted the achievements of the College and role of alumni in the development of the Institution. She also motivated the students to work hard to achieve their goals and provide their feedback for the development of the College.
Dr Nagari reiterated that the alumni were the backbone of the Institution and this interaction shall help to pave the way for various developmental programmes. The alumni shared their experiences and interesting moments of campus life as well as their valuable feedback for augmentation of quality culture in the teaching-learning process in the College.
O this occasion, the alumni also elected their representatives and formed an Alumni Association of the College in which Mona Andotra was elected as president, Skilva Mahotra as vice-president, Megha Sharma as convener and general secretary, Prof Anu  Devi as advisor and Alka Kundal as treasurer of the Association.
The proceedings of the program were conducted by Dr Arun Dev Singh under the supervision of Prof Ashwani Khajuria and Prof Ravinder Kour IQAC coordinator.
Prof Pankaj Nandan, Dr Naresh Sharma, Prof Shivani Sharma, Prof Som Raj, Prof Barun Kumar Bhatti, Prof Vaishno Devi and Roshan Lal Sharma (PTI) were also present during the meet.
