THANAMANDI, Dec 27: Department of Mathematics, Government Degree College Thanamandi celebrated National Mathematics Day with fervour and gaiety, here today.
Former and Founder Head of the Department of Arabic, Prof Ubaidur-Rehman of BGSB University was the chief guest on the occasion, while Dr Javed Ahmed, Assistant Professor was the guest of honour.
College Principal, Dr MB Magray presided over the function.
A symposium on the topic Life and Contribution of Ramanujan was organized on the occasion.
Sehar Shakeel Raina claimed first place, while the second and third places went to Mehwash Shakoor and Imtiyaz Ahmed respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, Magray threw light on the importance of Mathematics and said that one can not move an inch in any field of knowledge without Mathematics.
Prof Vishal Khajuria presented vote of thanks.
