SHOPIAN, July 29: The Government Degree College (GDC) Shopian kick started college outdoor activities and organized Annual Road Race for Boys. Enthusiasm was shown by more than 60 participants in the event.
Sports Convenor, GDC Shopian, Prof. Gulzar Ahmad along with Mohammad Abdullah took sports oath from the participants before commencement of race.
The race was flagged off by District Development Commissioner Shopian and Principal in presence of other staff members of the College. The race started from College Campus and ended at Burihaln Bala Wawyaar. Mohammad Altaf of B.G Ist year stood first in the race. Jahangir Ahmad of 2nd year and Rafi Kareem of Ist year bagged 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. The winners were encouraged with prizes by the Principal.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal, Government Degree College Shopian, Prof. Showkat Ali highlighted the importance of organizing such events in Institutions.
The vote of thanks was presented to District Administration, Police and paramedics who played their catalytic role in making this event a successful one.
