RAMNAGAR, Dec 14: Government Degree College (GDC) Ramnagar organized “One Day Conference on Mathematics” in collaboration with Department of Science and Technology, here today.
Prof K S Charak from Department of Mathematics, University of Jammu was the chief guest, while Prof Shakeel Ahmed, GDC Thanamandi, HoD Mathematics was the guest of honour.
Dr Narinder Sharma, Coordinator of the programme delivered the welcome address in which he highlighted the importance of mathematics in our daily life.
Sanjay Kharoo from Deptt of Science & Technology, Udhampur assured that such kinds of programmes will be promoted and conducted in future also.
Principal GDC Ramnagar, Prof. Kusam Gupta presented welcome address.
In 1st Year Ist and 2nd positions were bagged by Shagun Gupta of GDC Ramnagar and Manvi Sharma of GCW Parade Jammu with a cash prize of Rs 500 and Rs 400 respectively.
In 2nd Year 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions were bagged by Shreya Sareen of GCW Gandhi Nagar Jammu, Anupama Sharma of Govt MAM College Jammu and Shaveta Kamotra of Govt MAM College Jammu with a cash prize of Rs 500, Rs 400 and Rs 300 respectively.
In 3rd Year 1st, 2nd positions were bagged by Nisha Arora of GCW Parade Jammu and Shruti Gupta of GDC Ramnagar with a cash prize of Rs 500 and Rs 400 respectively.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Tanvi and Smile Vats.
Prof Kewal Kumar, HoD Chemistry presented vote of thanks.
Prof Brinder Singh, Prof Sanjay Kumar and all other staff members were present on the occasion.
