GDC organizes Zoological Quiz

MENDHAR, Oct 20: Government Degree College (GDC) Mendhar organized a Zoological Quiz in the College Premises, here today.
The Quiz was conducted by Prof Sarshad Hussain HoD Zoology, GDC Mendhar, while Principal, Prof Shabir Hussain Shah was the cheif guest. The students of B.Sc Part-I , Part-II and Part-III were divided into 10 groups. Part-I was divided into eight groups namely Protozoa, Porifera, Coelenterata, Platyhelminthes, Annelida, Arthropoda, Mollusca and Echinodermata, while Part-II and Part-III were named under Lower Chordates and Higher Chordates.
The Quiz was divided into two parts. In the first part students themselves explained their groups mentioning their habit and habitat, food and feeding and their special characters, while in the second group, the students were asked 70 general questions from zoology in seven rounds. Rounds were conducted by Prof Sarshad Hussain and Azhar Manzoor Bhat, Teaching Assistant in Zoology alternatively, while Mohd Arif, Teaching Assistant in Maths was the scorer. B.Sc Part-II  won the 1st prize, whereas Protozoa group of B.Sc Part-I and higher chordate group of B.Sc part 3rd won the second and third position.
Later-on, Principal, Prof Shabir Hussain Shah and Prof Mahroof Khan HoD Botany distributed the prizes among the winners.
