GDC Kathua, SPMR, MAM, GDC Paloura enter semis

KATHUA, Oct 6: Government Degree College (GDC) Kathua, SPMR College, MAM College and GDC Paloura defeated rivals in their respective matches and sailed into the semis of the ongoing Inter-Collegiate Kabaddi Tournament for men, being organised by GDC Kathua, here today.
In the first quarterfinal match, GDC Kathua defeated GDC Bhaderwah in a closely fought contest by 32-30 points. The outstanding performance of Captain Aman Singh Pathania enabled victory for GDC Kathua.
In second quarterfinal, SPMR College trounced PG Department of Jammu University by 37-31 points, whereas in the third quarterfinal, MAM College defeated GDC Poonch by 47-43 points.
GDC Paloura also reached semifinal by registering victory over GDC Basohli by 36-10 points in the fourth quarterfinal match.
In the semis, GDC Kathua will take on GDC Paloura and SPMR College will clash with MAM College.
The matches were witnessed by DFO Kathua Sunil Singh, Principal of the college Prof KC Badgal, Prof PK Rao, Prof Rakesh Singh, Dr MS Saini, Prof Jasvinder Singh, Dr Suram Singh and Dr Sumit Dubey.
The tournament is being conducted under the supervision of Dr Balbinder Singh, Prof Sumanesh Jasrotia, Prof Sandeep Chaudhary, Dr RK Manhas, Dr Surya Partap Singh, Dr Kehar Singh and Dr Rachna.
The matches were officiated by Keshav Singh, Amandeep, Harpreet Singh, Rohit Kumar, Gagan Kumar and Sukh Ram Sharma.
