GDC, Kathua holds Annual day

KATHUA, Feb 18: Government Degree College, Kathua organized Annual Day cum Prize Distribution Function in the College premises.
On the occasion, Prof Mohan Paul Singh Ishar,  Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu was the chief guest. The function started with the lighting of the traditional lamp by the chief guest.
Principal of the college, Dr Nater Singh, in his welcome address highlighted the various achievements of the college in the field of sports, games , NSS, NCC, cultural activities and seminars organized by the college during the academic session 2013-2014.
In his address Prof Mohan Paul Singh Ishar congratulated the college administration and students for organizing the Annual Day function. He also appreciated the efforts of the college in organizing the national seminar on the topic Environmental Education.
Another highlight of the day was a colorful cultural program cum competition presented by the college students which enthralled the audience. Prof  Dhian Singh, Sunita Khajuria, and Inder Paul Gupta were the jury members for the competition in which Dogri group dance was adjudged first.
Earlier, NCC cadets of the college presented God of Honour to the chief guest.
Finally, the chief guest gave away prizes to the students who excelled in the field of academics, NCC, NSS and other co-curricular activities.
Vote of thanks was proposed by Prof P K Rao.
Others present in the function were Dr AK Malhotra, Prof Ram Murti Sharma, Dr C P Sharma, Tajinder Kour and faculty members of the college.
