Govt MAM College wins Kabaddi title

JAMMU, Feb 20: Government Degree College (GDC) Akhnoor bagged the men’s Volleyball trophy in the inter-college Sports Festival at Government SPMR College of Commerce, here today.
In the title clash, GDC Akhnoor outplayed GDC Samba in straight sets of (25-19, 25-14).
The title trophy was presented to the GDC Akhnoor by principal of the host college, Prof R S Jamwal. He appreciated the fighting spirit of both the teams and motivated the players.
Prominent among those present were Prof Shafqat Jahangir (convener Sports Committee), Malik Aijaz (Physical Director), Prof Sandhya Bhardwaj, Prof Savita Jamwal, Prof Deepshikha Sharma and Prof Harpreet Kaur.
The matches officiated by the technical penal including Rajesh Virdhy, Mulkh Raj Sharma, Bhavana Sharma and Parvinder Singh.
Meanwhile at GCW Gandhi Nagar, Govt MAM College defeated GDC Paloura by 25 points in men’s Kabaddi final on day-4 of the Sports Fest 2020.
In Kho-Kho men, GDC RS Pura defeated GGM Sciece College in a close contest by 1 point, while in Kho-Kho Women, Govt PG College for Women Gandhi Nagar defeated GGM Science College by 2 points.
Danesh Rana, IGP Armed was the chief guest, who distributed prizes among the winners on the valedictory function, while SSP RC Kotwal was the guest of honour.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Dr Ravinder Tickoo, Nodal Principal Jammu Province, Surinder Kumar, Convener Sports Committee and Dr Roopali Slathia, Physical Director.
