JAMMU, May 1: GD Goenka Public School, Jammu governed by Om Prakash Bansal Charitable Trust organized Jammu Sahodaya Inter-School Table Tennis Tournament 2018-19 for boys and girls in Under-14, Under-17 and Under-19 age categories.
The 3-day tournament which had begun on April 28, 2018, concluded yesterday evening.
Seventy players drawn from 10 Sahodaya schools participated in the mega event.
Jagadish Singh Dhami, Principal Heritage School and President Jammu Sahodaya schools was the chief guest on the occasion.
Earlier, the events started with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and oath taking ceremony.
In boys section Under-14 category, KC International School bagged 1st position, while Heritage School claimed second and the third place was shared by GD Goenka Public School and APS Kaluchak.
In Under-17 boys, Jodhamal Public School won 1st place, GD Goenka Public School Jammu bagged second spot and third position was shared by Heritage School and APS Domana.
In Under-19 boys, GD Goenka won 1st position, while APS Domana and KC International claimed 2nd and 3rd position respectively.
In Under-14 girls, APS Kaluchak clinched 1st place, while RM Public School and GD Goenka claimed 2nd and 3rd position respectively.
In Under-17 girls, GD Goenka, Heritage School and RM Public School won 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively.
In Under-19 girls, GD Goenka and Heritage won bagged 1st and 2nd spots respectively.
While Mr Dhami was the chief guest on the occasion, while Nirmal Mahna, Principal, DPS, Kathua and General Secretary, Jammu Sahodaya was the guest of honour.
The tournament concluded with prize and certificate distribution among the winning teams and players.
Congratulating the Coaches along with the Convener of the event, Deepak Singh Bisht HoD Sports, Principal of GD Goenka Public School Jammu, Rajesh Rathore said that the institution was proud of their achievements. He further enunciated that Jammu Sahodaya will keep providing platform to hone skills of the students.
