JAMMU, Sept 7: To create awareness among the student community against the grave environmental dangers, GD Goenka Public School organised Hand Print Pledge Campaign, in which students and teachers participated actively.
The participants prepared 10 feet long banner with hand-prints on it. This banner will be sent to WWF, where it will be displayed at the convention to be held at Hyderabad in the month of October.
While speaking, Principal of the school, Poonam Jha, said that natural resources are under extreme pressure due to the burgeoning human population and rapid urbanization across the world.
Many studies show that increase in the ecological foot-print from the changing consumption behaviour particularly of those residing in cities, continue to negatively impact the environment, she added.
Principal congratulated the students and teachers on the successful completion of the campaign.
