JAMMU, Feb 13: One day provincial level Seminar on the topic “Recommendation of Justice Verma Commission” was organized at Govt. College of Education, here today.
The two subthemes of the Seminar were ‘Change in duration and course curriculum will ensure qualitative improvement: analysis and suggestion’ and ‘Roadmap for sessional and project works, objectives and techniques’.
The Seminar was inaugurated by Jai Kumar Sharma, Director, College Development Council, University of Jammu.
25 participants from 12 private B.Ed Colleges presented their views on the two subthemes. The chief guest landed the efforts of the college to have chosen the apt topic to deliberate during the proceedings of the Seminar.
The Principal of the College, Prof (Dr) Kaushal presented welcome address.
Prof BL Thakur in his key note address underlined the objectives of the Seminar thereby throwing light upon the various recommendations of the Justice Verma Commission and NCTE.
The formal vote of thanks at the inaugural ceremony was presented by Dr Sindhu Kapoor, convener Literary Committee. The technical session witnessed presentations and was chaired by Prof. (Dr) Mubarak Singh, Dean faculty of Education, University of Jammu.
tthe event was also graced by three observers namely Prof (Dr) Arti Bakshi, Head, Deptt. of Psychology, University of Jammu, Prof (Dr) Darshana Sharma, University of Jammu, Prof (Dr) Rajiv Rattan, Deptt of Education, University of Jammu.
Ankita Sharma from Shivalik College of Education, Jammu bagged 1st prize, Megha from Shivalik College of Education, Jammu bagged 2nd prize and Manu Sharma from Govt. College of Education, Jammu claimed 3rd prize.
The proceedings of the Seminar were conducted by Arti, while the vote of thanks was presented by Dr Aksa, Deptt. of English GCOE, Jammu.
