JAMMU, Dec 17: French Club Jammu and GLS Public School organized Inter-School French Grammar Competition ‘Maître De Grammaire Du Français (Master of French Grammar), here.
The winners of the competition were honoured today in an impressive function.
KC Public School secured the first position, G D Goenka School stood second and Model Academy School claimed third position.
Garima Bhat of K C Public School was crowned as “Maître De Grammaire Du Français”.
Samya Vaid and  Arshiya Jain, both from KC Public School, stood second and third respectively.
Chairman Team Jammu, Zorawar Singh Jamwal was the chief guest on the occasion while Sachiv Gupta, MD, Travel Green Earth and Sugandhi Goel, MD, Trived Event Management Company were the guests of honour. Ashima Sharma, Model/ Anchor was the special guest.
The chief guest and the other dignitaries felicitated the winning students with medals and certificates and gave mementoes to the participating schools.
Senior Members of the French Club who were present on the occasion  included Arun Sharma, the founder of the Club, Harminder Singh  and  Ujwal Singh Rathore.
In his address the chief guest, Zorawar Singh Jamwal said “French is the official language of many International Organizations like WHO, WTO ,UN and those who know French they get an edge to fetch the jobs in these Organizations, adding that it is very good to learn foreign languages but we should preserve our Dogri language as well.”
Arun Sharma, founder of the French Club Jammu and other dignitaries also spoke on the occasion, while Gurpreet Singh, the Administrator of GLS Public School presented vote of thanks.
