JAMMU, Aug 2: G D Goenka Public School, Jammu hosted Commerce Fest 2025, an inter-school event celebrating student excellence in commerce and related fields. Eleven schools from across Jammu participated with great enthusiasm.
Surbhi Mehta, CFO of Jammu Auto Wheels Pvt. Ltd., was the chief guest. The event began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by a welcome address by Principal Arindam Roy Choudhury, who emphasized the importance of blending knowledge with practical skills in today’s world.
The chief guest was warmly welcomed and felicitated by Dean Academics Susmita Roy Choudhury and Senior Wing Coordinator Varsha Billawaria. A soulful performance by the Goenkan choir added vibrancy to the occasion. Surbhi Mehta then delivered a motivational address, sharing her journey as a Chartered Accountant and insights into the finance industry.
The fest featured innovative events including Eco Allies, Economic Escape, Brandwiz, Audit the Fraud, Nukkad Natak and Budgeting for Success, all aimed at enhancing students’ analytical, creative and collaborative skills.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Varsha Billawaria, followed by the announcement of results. Heritage School was declared the overall winner and awarded the prestigious rolling trophy for their outstanding performance.
