JAMMU, Sept 2: Doon International School Jammu organized a function with great dignity and high esteem in the most candid way, wherein Zaheer Abbas Jafri, SDPO East was the chief guest of the event, here today.
The chief guest was extended a formal and gracious welcome by the chairman GN Tantray, Principal, Dr.Vikesh Kaur, Vice Principal, Dr Sarita Moza Kaul, staff, students and the parents of Doon International School.
The function commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by all the dignitaries, followed by the formal welcome speech by the Principal, Dr Vikesh Kaur presenting the high profile of the highly decorated guest, Zaheer Abbas Jafri, SDPO East.
The students presented a splendid classical dance performance alongwith welcome songs by the School choir and the teachers as well. The elected leaders of the School were conferred with badges and sashes by the chief guest, chairman and the Principal of the School.
The student council took the pledge to uphold the School motto of ‘Deeds Not Words’ along with loyalty, truth and honour in high esteem with their heads held high. The oath ceremony was presided over by Vidushi Abrol, the anchor of the event.
The chief guest congratulated the student council and shared his valuable experiences motivating the young leaders. He advised the entire council to be impartial and honest in discharging their duties as leaders and also deliberated upon being respectful and truthful with all.
The chairman and the Principal congratulated the newly elected body and inspired them to discharge the responsibility bestowed upon them with dedication, determination, sincerity and integrity. The event concluded with the vote of thanks by the Vice Principal, followed by the proud recital of the National Anthem by the august gathering.
The ceremonial event was coordinated by activity coordinator, sports in-charge and the chief coordinators of the School.
